2022 was a big year for us at Peterson Cartridge. Our production numbers were higher than ever. We launched several new calibers, including completing offerings in the Weatherby and Nosler Families. As we move into 2023 you'll notice we've made some more changes including this now-quarterly journal that will replace our general newsletter.

If you're anything like me, and your life revolves around hunting, the months of June, July, and August are a painful time of year. Introduced to the shooting world in 2018 by Hornady, the PRC in .300 PRC stands for “Precision Rifle Cartridge”.  This new cartridge features a .532” head diameter, a 30-degree shoulder and unlike previous generations of magnum rifle cartridges, has no belt. 

Developed by Roy Weatherby in the 1940’s and becoming commercially and culturally popular in the 1950’s, the 7mm Weatherby Magnum is considered one of the best one-rifle cartridges for long distance shooting.

Our 2022 Predator Contest is taking place February 1st – 28th, 2022.

It is perhaps one of the most frustrating obstacles a hunter or shooter ever has to deal with. Going into a sporting goods store in the current market and attempting to buy powder, bullets, brass, or primers will have you shaking your head in disgust.

Most competitive shooters know and respect the caliber 6.5 x 47 Lapua. But there is another community that really likes the necked down 6 x 47 Lapua. Most 6 x 47 shooters dread the tedium of having to neck the 6.5 casings down.  Problem solved – Peterson Cartridge now offers factory made 6 x 47 Lapua.
