.300 PRC
Introduced to the shooting world in 2018 by Hornady, the PRC in .300 PRC stands for “Precision Rifle Cartridge”. This new cartridge features a .532” head diameter, a 30-degree shoulder and unlike previous generations of magnum rifle cartridges, has no belt. Coupled with long, heavy for caliber VLD target or hunting bullets and relatively fast twist rate barrels, the .300 PRC ushers in a new era of .30 caliber performance.
“We keep a list in the front office of calibers that customers call or email about, and the .300 PRC is hands down the most requested caliber,” states Derek Peterson, President of Peterson Cartridge. He continues, “That amount of interest shouldn’t be ignored, so we developed the tooling and started producing them to meet that demand.
