.300 Weatherby Magnum

The origins of one of the most popular cartridges designed by Roy Weatherby date to the 1940’s, when he used the existing concept of a venturi shoulder for his famous double radius shoulder magnum cartridge known as the .300 Weatherby Magnum. The .300 Weatherby Magnum has been a favorite of long-range big game hunters since its formal introduction in 1944, largely due to its velocity and muzzle energy advantages over its contemporaries.

Derek Peterson, President of Peterson Cartridge explains, “After successfully developing tooling for the conventional belted magnums, we decided to apply those lessons learned to producing a .300 Weatherby Magnum casing with the same high standards and quality as the rest of our casings.” Peterson continues, “Shooters and hunters can expect to find these casings available soon, and we would love to hear your feedback on them, so work up some loads and let us know how we did.”
